China has figured out how to save Europe by developing wind power in Tibet. The implementation of such plans will make it possible to fully provide energy to a number of European states. But when generating electricity in the mountainous region, China will certainly face various difficulties.

As the agency reports Bloomderg with reference to the report of the Chinese Institute for Climate Research, there is a high potential of wind energy in mountainous areas, the reason for this is a constant and strong wind. Such climatic conditions help to install turbines in Tibet, the capacity of which reaches a total of 600 gigawatts, as well as additional wind turbines for 420 gigawatts in certain parts of the plateau in neighboring regions. This amount of energy should be enough to provide electricity to the UK, Germany and France at the same time, experts believe.

However, despite ambitious plans, the generation of a large amount of electricity will depend on a number of factors. China may face difficulties in delivering equipment due to poor roads and high prices for the construction of power lines. Also, experts emphasize, the thin air in the mountains reduces the efficiency of wind turbines, which will affect the production of the necessary amount of electricity. But after the publication of the report, experts from the National Energy Administration of China demanded to accelerate the construction of renewable energy bases in Tibet. The general secretary of the Chinese Wind Energy Association, Qin Haiyan, drew attention to the undeniable potential of the state's wind energy resources and said that the cost of electricity produced by wind farms will be halved in the next few years. Since the end of 2021, gas prices in Europe have repeatedly reached record levels. The quotes reached a historical maximum on December 21, 2021 – $2190.4 per thousand cubic meters, after which they moved to a decrease.
