A major oil refining and petrochemical project has been commissioned by Shenghong Petrochemical in the city of Lianyungang in eastern China. /" title="Neftegaz.RU" target="_self">Neftegaz.RU.
Investments in it amounted to 67.7 billion yuan (about $10 billion). Its processing capacity is planned in the amount of 16 million tons of oil per year.
“This project has broken records in a number of technology areas in China and has the country's largest atmospheric vacuum distillation plant,” said Lianyungang Mayor Ma Shiguang. The project is expected to play a key role in integrating oil refining and the production of high-tech chemicals, as well as increase the level of localization of the production of critical chemical products.
