Oil of Kazakhstan: results, expectations and forecasts

During an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov spoke about the main indicators of the oil industry of Kazakhstan over the past year and plans for 2022.

According to the results of 2021, the volume of oil production amounted to 85.9 million tons, the plan for 2022 is 87.5 million tons.

Oil exports by the end of 2021 amounted to 67.6 million tons. The plan for 2022 is 69 million tons.

The volume of production of petroleum products by the end of 2021 amounted to 12.7 million tons.

The head of the department noted that three major oil and gas projects – Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan - remain the drivers in the country's oil production. They make a significant contribution to the economic growth of the country.

By the end of 2021, the volume of oil production under Tengiz projects amounted to 26.5 million tons.

The volume of oil production at the Kashagan field by the end of 2021 is at the level of 16.2 million tons.

The volume of oil production at the Karachaganak field is 11.5 million tons.

Also, in accordance with the instructions of the President, the Ministry of Energy has set the maximum prices for the retail sale of petroleum products (including value added tax) at the following level for a period of 180 days:

1) Ai-92 gasoline – 182 tenge per liter;

2) Ai-93 gasoline – 182 tenge per liter;

3) Ai-95 gasoline – 215 tenge per liter;

4) diesel fuel (summer, off–season) - 230-260 tenge per liter, depending on the region.

"At the same time, within the framework of the President's address "New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization", the work on providing farmers with the necessary amount of fuel and lubricants at affordable prices will be taken under special control", – отметил Болат Акчулаков.

As of today, 400 thousand tons of diesel fuel at the price of 212 thousand tenge/ton at the refinery (176 tenge/liter) have been allocated to agricultural producers for timely and stable spring field work.
