Geologist's Day in Kazakhstan is celebrated on the first Sunday of April according to the Decree of the Head of state dated October 20, 2011. Although its history, as in a number of other post-Soviet countries, dates back to the times of the USSR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This professional holiday of geologists and people of all professions related to the search and extraction of minerals was established by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on March 31, 1966 to commemorate the merits of Soviet geologists in creating the mineral resource base of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
