Французская компания TotalEnergies и итальянская Eni объявили об обнаружении у побережья Кипра крупных залежей природного газа, их объем оценивается в 70 миллиардов кубометров. Об этом пишет агентство экономической информации «Прайм».
Речь идет о газовом месторождении Calypso-1, открытом в 2018 году. Работы ведет Eni Cyprus, партнерам в ней принадлежат равные доли. Скважина Cronos-1, которая позволила говорить о находке, стала четвертой, пробуренной оператором.
В итальянской компании считают, что новая скважина в этом районе, удаленном от побережья острова на 160 километров, позволит говорить о дополнительных объемах.
Eni работает на Кипре с 2013 года. Она является оператором блоков 2,3,6,8 и 9, а также владеет долями в блоках 7 и 11, где оператором является TotalEnergies.
