The project is being implemented by the Kazakh electric power holding Samruk-Energy JSC in partnership with the Chinese corporation Power China, SK News
A new wind farm (WPP) with a capacity of 60 MW, which is being built 140 km from Almaty, is planned to be put into operation in early August 2022. The station will generate 225.7 million kWh of electricity per year. In addition to production characteristics, the project is important for the region with its environmental component. Construction and launch of wind farms will reduce emissions to 206 thousand tons
The energy facility is being built in the Enbekshikazakh district of the Almaty region, in the so-called Shelek corridor, where the average annual wind speed at a height of 50 meters is 7.8 m/s, the flux density is 310 W/m2. In the future, the WPP capacity is planned to be increased up to 300 MW.
The project, with a total cost of 37.4 billion tenge, provides for the construction of 24 wind turbines, each with a nominal capacity of 2.5 MW, substations, overhead power lines and related infrastructure.
The main equipment of the station was produced by GoldWind.
