It is also planned to produce different types of thermoplastics and butadiene, which is used in the manufacture of tires, transport belts, belts and other products.
"The focus will be on the implementation of large projects for the production of polyethylene terephthalate with a capacity of up to 1 million tons per year, polyethylene with a capacity of 1.25 million tons per year and butadiene with a capacity of 186 thousand tons per year," Bolat Akchulakov said. According to him, 489 jobs have been created at the plant, and by September it is planned to triple this figure. The launch of polypropylene production with a capacity of 500 thousand tons per year is planned for this year, the head of the department informed. The Ministry of Energy is working on the creation of an oil and gas chemical cluster, which provides for the implementation of seven projects in Atyrau and West Kazakhstan regions. The work is carried out within the framework of the national project "Sustainable economic growth aimed at improving the well-being of Kazakhstanis". According to the minister, by 2025 it is expected to complete projects for the construction of combined-cycle gas plants with maneuverable mode in the southern regions of the country with a total capacity of about 1000 MW.
