More than eight thousand fields, of which over 300 are oil and gas, are listed on the state register, reports inbusiness.kz with reference to the General Director of LLP "RCGI "Kazgeoinform" Zhanat Karibayev.
About which minerals, as well as exactly where and to what extent are contained in the bowels of Kazakhstan, all this important geological information for potential investors, which used to be "under seven seals", is presented today by Kazgeoinform LLP. Recall that the company was established four years ago. "Today there are more than eight thousand deposits on the state register of minerals, 317 of them for hydrocarbons, 910 for solid minerals, more than three thousand common minerals and about four thousand for groundwater," said Mr. Karibayev, speaking at the XII Mining andthe geological forum "MINEX Kazakhstan", which was held last week in the capital of the country.
In general, according to him, the state accounting is conducted for 103 types of minerals, more than 90% of the reserves of priority types of minerals are involved in operation. The speaker reminded that despite the fact that Kazgeoinform is a limited liability partnership with 100% state participation, it provides information to investors on a fee basis. Now the company is working on galvanizing all available geological information, after which it will provide it in an automated mode. For several years now, we have been talking about creating a single platform for subsoil use, in the development of which several departments take part at once: the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Innovative Development.
The speaker recalled that it was decided to create an information system of the National Data Bank, as well as to automate all business processes of subsurface use on the Kaznedra platform by combining all existing subsurface use information systems. Work on this project has not yet been completed. According to him, the information system will consist of a database of geological data, an interactive map, a module of business processes and reporting, as well as an analytics module. "The National Data Bank will provide online access to geological data on deposits from anywhere in the world. The main principle of this system is to use the paper free concept, that is, there is no need to provide documents in paper form," Karibayev stressed. According to him, Kazgeoinform currently provides services to large international and domestic companies: Rio Tinto, SNPS, KazMunayGas, Kazakhmys and many others.
