Kazakhstan is diversifying oil export routes to China and Europe, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, transmits KazTAG.
"We have started to diversify oil export routes to China and Europe, including using Turkish transport corridors. Work has begun to increase the capacity of oil pipelines and modernize the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk," Tokayev said on Wednesday during his visit to Turkey, speaking about the changing geopolitical situation.
He noted that the role of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route has now significantly increased.
"After the Kuryk seaport joined the Trans-Caspian Corridor, the time of cargo transportation from Khorgos to Istanbul was reduced by five times. The cargo, which used to take 60 days, now arrives in just 13 days," Tokayev said.
