The Caspian Pipeline Consortium has resumed receiving oil from Kazakhstan. This became known at the meeting of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov with the General Director of JSC "Caspian Pipeline Consortium" Nikolai Gorban. The parties discussed issues of further cooperation in the transportation of Kazakh oil for export, according to Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, it was noted that today the restrictions on the throughput of the oil pipeline have been lifted, the acceptance of oil from Kazakhstani shippers has been restored in full. All remote mooring devices are in operation. “We are pleased that the repair of the damaged TMOs at the CPC Marine Terminal has been completed. This made it possible to remove restrictions and fully restore oil production in Kazakhstan,” said Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan also noted the importance of ensuring the timely implementation of the CPC pipeline system debottlenecking project to transport additional volumes of oil after the completion of the future expansion project at the Tengiz field. “I would like to note the importance of ensuring further accident-free and uninterrupted operation of the CPC oil pipeline. I believe that all possible measures must be taken for this,” Alikhan Smailov emphasized. The CPC oil pipeline provides the shortest route and the most favorable economic conditions for exporting oil from the large fields of Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan. In 2021, 53.1 million tons of Kazakh oil were transported through it, in January-April of this year - 18.7 million tons.
