Kazakh oil supplies have been fully resumed through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), the press service of the pipeline reports, KazTAG reports.
"On April 23, 2022, VPU-3 was put into operation at the CPC Marine Terminal after repairs. A short–term improvement in weather conditions on April 23, 2002 made it possible to carry out diving operations and open the terminal underwater pipeline manifold (OPTM), which made it possible to resume oil transshipment at the specified VPU," the report says. Earlier, specialists of the contractor organization and CPC carried out flushing of the outrigger berthing device with the help of a tanker, replaced damaged floating hoses, and also successfully implemented measures for crimping and checking the serviceability of all VPU systems.
"Currently, a Delta Commander tanker is moored to VPU-3, loading is underway. VPU-2 remains temporarily decommissioned. VPU-1 is functioning normally", – added to the CPC.
Recall that on March 21 and 22, 2022, after a period of adverse weather conditions at VPU-3, damage was detected in the form of displacement of the power frame of one of the floating hoses. Timely detection of malfunctions and decommissioning of equipment made it possible to exclude the possibility of an emergency oil spill in the Black Sea. Monitoring of the situation in the area of the CPC Sea Terminal near Novorossiysk was also carried out by Rosprirodnadzor specialists. No oil spill was recorded.
