Группа исследователей из Японии представила прозрачные солнечные панели, которые можно использовать вместо окон. По словам авторов статьи, они нашли способ создания почти невидимых солнечных панелей – они пропускают свет и получают энергию с помощью него.

Ученые объяснили, что угроза изменения климата продолжает расти, поэтому поиск лучших способов интеграции чистой энергии является приоритетом для многих стран. В связи с угрозой повышения уровня океанов, возможность ограничить выбросы парниковых газов является жизненно важной для обеспечения процветания Земли в будущем. Прозрачные солнечные панели позволят легче и эффективнее встраивать их в дома и здания.

Этот проект основан на использовании взаимодействия между ультратонкими материалами с помощью проводящего материала – оксид индия-олова (ITO). Эта смесь бесцветная и прозрачная, поэтому ее можно использовать для прозрачных солнечных батарей.

Новая система работает за счет покрытия материала, тщательно подобранными тонкими металлами и последующего размещения изолирующего слоя между ITO и парами дисульфида вольфрама.

Такая установка позволила исследователям контролировать контактный барьер между материалами. Кроме того, конструкция, которую придумали исследователи, позволяет более эффективно преобразовывать энергию, чем существующие солнечные элементы на основе ITO. Исследователи также рассказали о том, как эту конструкцию можно использовать в больших масштабах для создания более эффективных и прозрачных солнечных батарей.
