Deputy Prime Minister - Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubayev announced the approximate amount of damage from the accident at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), reports Tengrinews.kz.
He noted that it is impossible to calculate the exact damage yet, since everything depends on how long the malfunctions will be fixed and whether there will be new sanctions measures.
"(Damage. – Approx.) is estimated in the range of 100-150 billion tenge. If they eliminate it quickly, of course, then there will be less", – the minister said, answering questions from journalists on the sidelines of the government.
On March 22, it became known that as a result of a severe storm in the Black Sea, the pipeline system of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which provides more than two-thirds of Kazakhstan's total oil exports, was damaged, as a result of which the export of Kazakh oil was threatened. Earlier, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported that the damage to the economy of Kazakhstan from anti-Russian sanctions, damage to the terminals of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, as well as the situation in Ukraine could reach 300 billion tenge."Anti-Russian sanctions will indirectly affect the economy of Kazakhstan.
